FPM 40mm Balancing Centring Plate is used to irradiate “Run Out” issues when balancing alloy wheels of large diameters.
When carrying out balancing tasks on a wheel balancer, alloys wheels are not always fitted 100% flat to the surface of the balancing plate. Mostly this is due to poor fitting of the wheel against the cone when front coning (in part due to the wheel design) in that the cone being situated into a hole designed simply to hold a centre cap.
Using the back cone method any run out can be eradicated as the cone will be situated into the hole designed for mounting to a wheel hub, which by design is honed to a far higher degree of precision. However this is not always the case and in some circumstances (such as corrosion of the paint or wheel) you may still get “Run Out” when using the back cone method.
The FPM Balancing Plate eliminates the later by centring the wheels to the balancing shaft via studs or pins that locate into the stud holes of the wheels, to ensure the wheel is pushed onto the back cone flat and level.
This FPM Centring Plate is suitable for fitting onto wheel balancers that use a 40mm diameter balancing shaft only.
PLEASE NOTE:- The FPM plate comes without pins as standard so please also purchase a set of FPM Pins if you do not already have a set.
